Closed off rooms that made for an unsatisfactory layout were transformed into an ideal space for entertaining. This 28 year-old bachelor recently purchased a home and wanted an updated cohesive design while optimizing space to entertain either small or large crowds. What was once a closed off area is now an open concept space large enough to fit a comfortable oversized sectional perfect for TV viewing; a nest seating area with rocker chairs ideal for conversation; and dining for either formal or casual occasions. The kitchen received a facelift with new cabinets, countertops and appliances. Finally, the contrast between dark furnishings and lightly colored walls, area rug and cabinetry; and generous lighting came together for a cohesive design perfect for entertaining, whether for one guest or fifty.
